Vice President, Fraud Mitigation & Information Security (Information Technology)
The Vice President, Fraud Mitigation & Information Security will be responsible for leading two key functions within Prudential's Operations and Planning organization; Fraud detection and mitigation across the Annuities and Individual Life businesses, as well as Oversight and Control for Annuities. Oversight and Control consists of information security and certain aspects of business continuation, records management and privacy for the Annuities Operations business. This position is accountable for all aspects of the Fraud detection and prevention processes across Annuities and Individual Life Insurance including establishing, monitoring and maintaining policies and procedures, proactive and forward-looking fraud prevention efforts including the use of analytics and best in class technology solutions. A focus on the continuous improvement of detection and prevention practices is paramount given the ever-changing landscape of fraud. This position is also accountable to partner with corporate investigations on a regular basis and to collaborate with stakeholders and business partners across the enterprise. This position is also accountable for the Oversight and Control function within the Annuities Operations business. This includes accountability for maintaining appropriate policies, procedures and execution related to systems access, including ongoing access recertifications for staff across numerous administrative platforms. Responsibilities include oversight of the use, release, modification, or destruction of data in any form, review of system designs to ensure essential security measures, monitoring systems usage to detect security violations, implementation of security procedures identified or required by internal auditors, external reviews and legal requirements, consulting on long range security planning, and providing state of the art technical information as requested, all in compliance with company standards and policies. In addition, Oversight and Control includes accountability for business continuation/ disaster recovery, records management and privacy for Annuities Operations. Each of these disciplines requires regular partnership with corporate groups and business leadership to ensure compliance with enterprise standards including policy and process documentation and execution, and regular testing and validation to ensure plans and processes are current. For all functions within this role, may be responsible for managing the vendor contracting process for the business, including requests for proposal development, vendor selection, vendor contract negotiation, vendor interactions and vendor contract performance.
5 plus years of relevant and progressive experience in Fraud prevention, preferably in the Financial Services industry.
5 plus years of leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead a team through a dynamic environment.
Ability to develop predictive models to identify potential fraud and implement tools and processes to minimize or eliminate fraudulent activities.
Ability to detect fraud through internal and external data sources and risk segmentation techniques to propose, implement and monitor risk mitigation initiatives.
Provide strategic direction on future fraud mitigation as processes change and new risks are introduced.
Deep understanding of information security risk controls and a thorough knowledge of IT processes and controls
Understands the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and instructs teams on how to incorporate security controls in compliance with Enterprise standards into each phase.
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to quickly execute on strategic decisions to drive organizational results
