Subject Matter Specialist II - Risk Management - Safety, Launch Systems Engineering (Government)



***Contingent on contract award***

Responsibilities:

  • Update the Risk Management Plan on an annual basis, and audit compliance.
  • Assist the Risk Management Working Group and Risk Management Board develop actionable risk management strategies.
  • Ensure all launch systems risks are being properly captured.
  • Perform risk management activities to include the identification and tracking of new risks, perform risk analysis to determine likelihood and impact if the risk is realized, and evaluate proposed risk burn-down plans.
  • Develop monthly risk management reports.
  • Prepare monthly briefing packages for the Risk Management Working Group and Risk Management Board.
  • Assist the AF risk owners develop actionable risk management plans.
  • Maintain the risk management database, assist the AF risk owners input the data.
  • Assist in reporting risks to higher headquarters.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and capable of completing multiple time-sensitive tasks.
  • Must be able to prioritize workloads.
  • Must thrive in fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office.

Experience and Education Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM-related field.
  • Requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • 6-10 years of work or internship experience in a related field.
  • Understanding and practical work with government risk management processes and practices.
  • Experience with maintaining the Risk Management Plans and supporting risk working groups an in development of actionable risk management strategies.
  • The ability to perform risk management activities that include the identification and tracking of new risks, perform risk analysis to determine likelihood and impact if the risk is realized, evaluate proposed risk burn-down plans, develop monthly risk management reports, prepare monthly briefing packages for the Risk Management Working Group and Risk Management Board.
  • Experience in assisting risk owners develop actionable risk management plans, maintain the risk management database.
  • Assist the risk owners to input the data, and assist in reporting risks to higher levels.

Preferred

  • Experience in Risk Management on USG launch or satellite programs.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Office environment.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening, subsequent random screening per antidrug and alcohol misuse prevention program requirements.

Travel:

  • Travel may be required and will be performed under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and/or Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
