Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Training Specialistin our Fort Mill, SC location to develop, deliver, and coordinate training and development programs and activites within the Fort Mill plant location and benchmark with the Region. This position is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of these programs and for managing th Fort Mill Apprenticeship program. They will work to continuously improve employee training and development process for manufacturing employees and assit in the achievement of Schaeffler Academy goals and objectives.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Analyze, design, deliver, implement and evaluate new and existing training courses
Conduct training needs analyses and evaluation as required for the purpose of continuous improvement in existing training activities or to recommend new training initiatives by working with plant and HR management team
Create, direct and produce robust training programs, including department specific training and set-up course for plant employees as required or requested by Plant Management
Develop and continuously improve training presentations and delivery methods as blended learning (computer or web-based training, training videos, digital media, etc.)
Work with plant management to ensure that training is aligned with HR (Orientation), Quality, Safety, Engineering and Move departments
Manage the Apprenticeship Program - hiring, working with York Technical Community College and plant rotations
Assist in building qualification database and skill templates for departments
Work with Department OJT and Apprentice trainers to implement a mentoring program
Ensure that all apprentices are assessed and achieve the skills necessary to obtain the journeymen certification
Act as a consultant with internal stakeholders to ensure adult learning principles are met in core business trainings
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, have close visual acuity and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to maneuver objects, tools. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, bend, push, pull, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally move up to 65 pounds.
Qualified Candidates will have:
Must have a minimum of BS, BA degree in Engineering, Technical Training, Education or related field
Minimum of two years direct experience in training and development in a manufacturing environment
Must have demonstrated in previous work experiences the ability to work with minimal supervision and to influence, communicate and drive the training agenda with internal customers
Must be proficient in the use of personal computers, including proficiency with MS Office software (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) are required
Video production skills a plus (Camtasia or Microsoft Movie Maker)
Must have excellent written, verbal communications skills as well as demonstrated ability in a classroom setting, while facilitating on-the-job training, and virtually
Must be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures related to the field of training and development and adult learning
Must be willing and able to travel, including overnight trips within the Americas Region
