Receiving Department Head (Finance)

Position Summary
The Department Head is responsible for all aspects of their department. They oversee staff and work to increase productivity by training, motivating, and building the skills of their team members. They support business efforts and implement company changes. They also maintain quality customer service working towards exceeding customer expectation.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Efficiently and accurately receive incoming freightReport purchase order discrepanciesCreate purchase orders when neededResponsible for unloading carriersSort and stage incoming freight on U-boatsEnsure that receiving is maintained in a neat, clean, and organized mannerFoster a safe and productive work environmentDiligent in protecting company assetsTrain and mentor receiving associatesFollow all SOP guidelines and company policiesMaintain HazMat programOther duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school Diploma or equivalentBasic Computer KnowledgeReading, Comprehension and Writing Skills
Familiar with safety protocolsKnowledge of inventory control and loss prevention

Previous Receiving experiencePrevious managerial experience in retail

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.The position does require frequent lifting of merchandise.It is expected that the employee lift safely, using proper body mechanics and lifting devices. When lifting heavy items, up to 50 pounds, a team lift may be required.
