Senior Associate, Regulatory Compliance and Governance

We are seeking a mid-level Senior Associate for our enterprise Global Regulatory Affairs Office (GRAO) to support compliance, governance, and policy team.

This role focuses on helping develop and implement governance frameworks, policies, and standards that support compliance with laws and regulations. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in regulatory, compliance and risk related matters.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of experience in compliance, legal risk, or project management who is ready to take on more responsibility and contribute to enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Help oversee how the company manages legal and compliance risks, including raising issues to leadership when needed.
  • Work with experts to write rules and guidelines that other teams can use to stay compliant and manage risks effectively.
  • Help lead important projects and work with different teams across the company to make sure goals are met on time.
  • Coordinate with teams like Risk, Legal, and Compliance, and help prepare information for company committees that make big decisions.
  • Help design the systems and processes the company uses to monitor and manage risk.
  • Look ahead to spot potential issues and work with others to prevent or quickly fix them.
  • Organize and facilitate group meetings that drive important changes across the company.

Skills/Experience:

  • At least 4 years' regulatory, compliance and risk related matters.
  • Great skills across communication (written and verbal), facilitation, interpersonal, conflict resolution, with the ability to establish credibility and foster excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable taking the initiative but also capable of recognizing complex problems and comfortable bringing questions to management
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Governance, Risk & Compliance solutions

Salary Range:
$83,100 - 141,300 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
