WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As ourRegional Sales & Applications Specialist for Ditch Witch West, you will focus on the Subsite Electronics portfolio and serve as a field-based catalyst for driving sales growth, new customer acquisition, and market development across your assigned region. You will work in close alignment with Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to promote, demonstrate, and support the full suite of Electronics technologies.

Your mission is to expand market presence by uncovering opportunities, acquiring new customers, and supporting the growth of our Utility Locating, HDD guidance, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Orange Intel® / Telematics, and Mobile / Digital Solutions. This role is designed for a high-impact, results-oriented professional with strong technical aptitude and a strategic approach to field execution. You'll bridge the gap between sales and application, translating customer needs into tailored solutions that deliver real value.

This position will be based out of our Portland, OR or Tukwila, WA branch depending on where the candidate resides. The assigned area of region will cover the Northwest Region which includes OR, WA, MT & Northern ID.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Electronics Sales Manager and Territory Sales Managersto execute targeted sales plans, assist in closing key opportunities, and support dealer-level sales efforts.
  • Lead regional business development effortsto identify, engage, and convert new customers and market segments.
  • Deliver hands-on product demonstrations, application consulting, and jobsite support to ensure effective product adoption and utilization.
  • Act as the subject matter experton the Subsite Electronics portfolio, including utility locating systems, HDD guidance tools, GPR, Orange Intel® / telematics, and mobile / digital solutions.
  • Analyze regional trends and customer feedbackto drive adjustments in strategy, messaging, and product positioning.
  • Conduct sales training and application workshopsfor internal sales teams and dealer personnel to strengthen frontline technical selling capability.
  • Support product evaluations, pilots, and field tests, ensuring smooth deployment and optimal customer outcomes.
  • Maintain a regular presence in the field, building relationships with end-users, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as competitive product expert– maintaining a strong awareness of competing products and technologies, delivering field-level insights to inform strategy, counter objections, and differentiate Subsite solutions with confidence.
WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or application support—ideally in underground construction, utilities, or industrial electronics in lieu of degree.
  • Proven success in regional sales execution and new customer acquisition.
  • Familiarity with field applications of utility locating, HDD, or GPR technologies (preferred).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and technical acumen.
  • Self-motivation, field-oriented, and comfortable working independently across a large geographic area.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight, to meet customers and support field activity – 30% travel
