Senior Information Technology Auditor (Finance)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, perform, document and complete risk-based technology audits independently. Adhere to established guidelines, and comply with Internal Audit Department procedures and Charter.
Keep informed of IIA Code of Ethics and Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, recommended business practices, and Credit Union policies and procedures. Apply to audit work.
Review and evaluate the operations, internal controls, and adherence to regulatory rules and regulations of the various technology related systems and network functions.
Plan, schedule, and assign audits to determine that internal controls and operation procedures are functioning in a way to protect the Credit Union from loss due to inefficiencies, inaccuracies, irregularities and willful manipulation.
Implement and approve Internal Audit Department procedures for audit planning, establishing scope and objectives, developing risk assessments and determining appropriate audit procedures.
Monitor audit projects to ensure adequate standards are maintained, and that the expectations of the Chief Audit Officer, Management and Supervisory Committee are met.
Review and approve audit work papers and reports; ensuring work is adequate and thoroughly documented, and provides an independent reviews and evaluations of all operations and activities reviewed.
Ensure audit issues are reported to business owner(s) to achieve maximum impact, clarity, accuracy and consistency, and conform to Department standards. Assure citing of laws, policies, procedures and other internal control weaknesses are correct and adequately documented.
Stay abreast of developments in internet and information technologies/systems auditing, RFCU policies and procedures, and all applicable state, federal and NCUA laws and regulations.
Work with various technology-related business owners throughout the system enhancement process; ensure controls are adequate before the enhancement/release becomes operational.
