Registered Nurse III - RUHS - Code Team (Finance)
The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System-Medical Center is seeking Registered Nurses for the Code Team.
The most competitive candidates will have at least three years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in either the Intensive Care Unit or Emergency Department within the last five years.
License/Certificate: Must possess and maintain a current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
Critical Care Pay: $4.00 per hour
Specialty Team Pay: $4.00
The work schedule for these positions are night shift, 3/12s, 6:00pm-6:30am.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Code Team RN will respond to Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis/RRT, and any other Rapid Response call.
The Code Team Nurse is responsible for the assessment, interventional care, and reporting to the primary physician any deteriorating patient with whom a Rapid Response has been initiated or patient who is in cardiopulmonary arrest and a Code Blue or White is called.
The Code Nurse will perform additional duties which include education of staff, rounding on Septic/Stroke/RRT/Code Blue patients, data collection, and initiate performance and quality improvement for improved patient care and patient outcomes. The Code Nurse will be role model for staff, exhibit high standards in patient care and exude a positive professional attitude.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
Experience: Three years of full time experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility, mental health facility, or community health agency with references and evaluations to show appropriate skill level. (A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or national certification in a nursing specialty may be considered as a substitution for one year of the required experience. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing may be considered as a substitution for two years of the required experience.)
Knowledge of: Current principles, techniques and procedures used in professional nursing; medical terminology and patient care routine appropriate to clinical setting; medical instruments and equipment; the uses and effects of medicines and narcotics; community resources available to provide patient care and follow-up; federal, state and local laws and regulations governing professional aspects of nursing; identification of potential discharge needs; payor source documentation requirements and governmental regulations affecting reimbursement.
Ability to: Perform the full range of nursing duties and responsibilities in a patient care setting; plan and organize nursing plans for patients; prepare and maintain concise and complete records and reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, patients and co-workers; secure the cooperation of employees to work effectively together; assist in the instruction of entry-level nurses and ancillary personnel; keep abreast of developments in area of nursing specialization; evaluate the medical records of hospital admissions; provide recommendations regarding continued stay necessity; identify discharge needs.

MISCELLANEOUS RETIREMENT: County of Riverside has three retirement Tiers through the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS).
Contribution rates are subject to change based on the County of Riverside annual actuarial valuation.

DEFERRED COMPENSATION: Voluntary employee contribution with a choice between two 457 deferred compensation plan options.
VACATION ACCRUAL (Bi-Weekly Accrual):
0< 3 year = 80 Hours (10 Days)
4< 9 years = 120 Hours (15 Days)
10 or more years = 160 Hours (20 Days)
Maximum Vacation leave accumulation is 480 hours.
SICK LEAVE: Four (4) hours Sick Leave accrual per pay period with unlimited accrual.
HOLIDAYS: Normally 12 paid holidays per year.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: Allowed 5 days (3 days are County paid; 2 additional days can be taken from accrued Sick Leave balance).
BASIC LIFE INSURANCE: Equal to one times annual base salary not to exceed $50,000 of term life coverage. Premiums are paid by the County. Additional Supplemental Life plan is available for employee purchase.
DISABILITY: Short-term Disability benefit pays up to a maximum of $461.54 weekly, payable up to a maximum of 52 weeks.
POST RETIREMENT MEDICAL CONTRIBUTION: A monthly contribution is made by the County towards retiree health insurance offered through the County as governed by the applicable SEIU Memorandum of Understanding.
