WORK SCHEDULE: Must be able to work flexible hours, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 pm – 5:00 pm,
and some Saturdays
Purpose:
The Dealer Technical position is responsible to provide technical support to Dealers on all MTD products; including but not limited to: riding lawn mowers, zero turn lawn mowers, walk behind lawn mowers, hand held products, compact tractors, utility vehicles, snow throwers and tillers.
Essential Duties:
•Communicate with customers, primarily by phone, in a professional manner at all times.
•Answer customer questions concerning assembly, operation, repair, and maintenance related to the entire product line
•Answer Dealer questions regarding engine, transmission, and other component tear down and troubleshooting
•Assist Dealers in troubleshooting all issues related to any product in the MTD line up
•Document all customer, product, and call type information into CRM while on a call
•Utilize and support the Continuous Improvement process
•Provides technical support to other technical support agents
•Other duties as assigned
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as owner's manuals for operation, assembly and basic safety procedures associated with MTD's various outdoor power equipment products
•Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills
•Knowledge of mechanical and operational theories common to general shop practices.
•A complete understanding of hydraulic, electrical, power plant and motion systems.
•Ability to read and understand technical drawings and prints.
•Excellent customer service skills (Including but not limited to: friendly, courteous, helpful)
•Ability to defuse and retain elevated customer contacts, while demonstrating empathy for the customer
•Ability to communicate professionally and effectively. This includes but is not limited to: grammar, diction, tone of voice, and defusing and retaining customer contacts while demonstrating empathy.
Experience/Educational Requirements:
•Must have a high school diploma or an equivalent
•Customer Service Experience
•EETC certifications are a plus
Work Environment:
•Must be able to work in an office environment as well as participate in a shop setting
