The Front of House Manager responds to the General Manager and is responsible for all front-of-house (FOH) functions on an opening, mid or closing shift including guest relations, supervision of all FOH staff and staffing levels, proper restaurant ambiance, housekeeping and set-up, food & beverage quality, safety, and pace. The Front of House Manager ensures the shift is run in a smooth manner and attends to any unexpected problems or emergencies that may arise. Each Front of House Manager is assigned a FOH department (i.e., Host, Server, etc.) and a profit/cost center such as Smallwares or Repair & Maintenance for which he or she will be responsible for the staffing, scheduling, financial goals and staff development of his or her assigned department.
