Bose Corporation
Acoustic Test Coop (Finance)
The Bose Acoustic Test Group (ATG) is responsible for developing, or overseeing the development of acoustic test methods, software (for test automation), and hardware used to test Bose products at the end of the manufacturing line. We have a small, energetic, and innovative team that is agile to new product complexities and schedules and is continuously improving current and innovating new acoustic test solutions.
We currently use primarily Audio Precision (AP) as a data acquisition (DAQ) platform and Bruel and Kjaer microphones and preamps. We would like to explore new functionality of the AP DAQ and associated software, more cost effective DAQ solutions for tests that may allow the use of lower performance hardware, and find other replacement options for other test equipment where applicable.
Project Responsibilities:
The specific goals of this project are threefold:
Investigate the new dual channel (multi-mode) Audio Precision function to reduce the cycle time of test measurements. Report to the team on the cycle time savings and functionality. Explore lower cost equipment (data acquisitions, microphones, power supplies, etc.) and baseline the performance. Investigate a B&K NEXUS microphone power supply replacement. This work will require some intelligent programing to capture microphone TEDS information and interface with current ATG test sequences.
