Dispatcher I

JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE

The Dispatcher I - under general supervision - is responsible for relaying service requests to field personnel and identifying specific issues that require further investigation by the appropriate personnel .

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handles requests from customers, remote monitoring systems, Account Managers, Homeowner Association Board members, etc.

• Dispatches field personnel (technicians, plant operators, emergency maintenance crews) as requested by customers or field and operating supervisors.

• Responds to after-hours customer (repair) service requests and coordinates the appropriate service response.

• Receives, classifies, and prioritizes all incoming calls in the Dispatch All queue.

• Monitors and logs all communications on a dispatch log sheet or in the work order program.

• Monitors and responds to facility alarms, security system alarms, and TX 811 Locate requests.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED. 1 year of experience preferred.

Technical:

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the internet. Ability to work with standard office equipment and phone systems. Basic map-reading skills and general knowledge of water distribution systems are preferred.

Communication:

Communicates clearly and professionally. Contributes to a positive internal and external customer experience. Willing to help others. Maintains composure in challenging situations.

Problem Solving & Quality:

Pays attention to detail. Identifies and solves problems. Escalates issues appropriately. Checks work for accuracy and quality.

Works well under supervision. Completes projects and assignments. Follows all company policies and SOPs. Manages multiple tasks effectively.

Demonstrates a positive attitude. Acts in accordance with the company's mission, vision, and values. Takes responsibility for own performance. Willing to take on additional assignments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work environment is characteristic of an office setting. The role involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting as required . The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds.
