Human Resources Business Partner (Legal)



Job Description Summary:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) works with guidance from the Senior HRBP in support of PTC's Technical Operations and Quality organizations. This includes, but is not limited to, the following functions: manufacturing; clinical and commercial supply chain, distribution and logistics; pharmaceutical development and related Quality functions among others.

The HRBP works cross-functionally and globally to ensure operational excellence across a wide range of Human Resources (HR) functions. These include, but may not be limited to, headcount planning/tracking, recruiting, compensation and benefits, performance management and organizational development among others. The position requires close collaboration with the Senior HR Business Partner, the HR Centers of Excellence (e.g. Talent Acquisition (TA), Compensation, Benefits, Talent Management, Information Technology, etc.), Compliance Learning, Finance, internal customers and external third parties as needed.

The incumbent supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies as appropriate.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Actively contributes to, and often leads, workforce planning and headcount tracking; job description development, maintenance and tracking; talent acquisition; compensation; and other staffing-related activities. This includes, but may not be limited to, the following:
    • Actively manages a dynamic headcount plan by liaising with managers, the Senior HRBP, Talent Acquisition (TA) and Finance to monitor recruiting activities and track headcount requests and utilization.
    • Ensures job descriptions for existing employees and new positions are developed, finalized and filed appropriately.
    • Liaises with Compensation for job leveling and market data analyses for new position, offers of employment, promotions, and internal job changes.
    • Captures, updates, and maintains HR data in the HR Information System (HRIS), Microsoft Teams, Excel or other repositories as necessary. 
  • Leads and facilitates periodic or annual HR activities. This includes, but may not be limited to, talent reviews; performance management; annual compensation reviews for merit and incentive compensation planning; and goal setting among others
  • As a leader and/or member of HR project teams, actively contribute to the design and implementation of the end product. Collects and delivers “voice of the customer” feedback to the project team and the broader HRBP team.
  • Actively supports employee engagement. This includes, but may not be limited to, employee survey data interpretation, action planning to influence continuous improvement and monitoring results.
  • Identifies the need for, plans, documents and executes Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) activities and terminations as needed.
  • Independently investigates, documents, and resolves employee relations-related matters.
  • Proactively and independently consults with managers and employees on HR-related issues or concerns to help better support the business. Assists with identifying resources to resolve issues and/or provide opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Liaises with employees and managers to answer questions or concerns, regarding company policies, practices and regulations. Leads, and actively contributes to, the development and/or revision of HR-related policies and practices as needed.
  • May be asked to conduct training on an as-needed basis.
  • Applies experience with relevant HR functions to provide operational and analytical support for assigned activities.
  • Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business or related field, and a minimum of 8 years of experience in an Human Resource Generalist or Business Partner role, or equivalent experience and/or education.
  • Demonstrated experience providing HRBP support in a pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment/labor laws, especially as they relate to multi-shift manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated success providing support in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining strong attention to detail. Strong follow-up skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external relationships at all levels (including executives/C-suite).
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. 
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects. 
  • Master's degree or SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR certification.
  • Direct, industry-related experience. 
  • Previous experience with one or more of the following: Workday, Microsoft Teams PowerBI.
