Maintain a thorough knowledge of Valley's computer system, in order to provide support and solutions to staff. Review work orders to move, change, install, repair, or remove data communications equipment, such as modems, switches and peripheral equipment (PCs and printers). Read technical manuals to learn correct settings for equipment. Plan layout and installation of data communications equipment. Install and test necessary software and hardware. Demonstrate use of equipment. Install updates to the Core System and maintain system parameters, as appropriate. Create special reports, as needed. Assist in maintaining system documentation, ensuring that manuals always contain the most current information. Provide support to users of the Core System and other third party software. Respond to questions, suggestions and concerns. Work with telephone system vendor to ensure equipment and infrastructure is maintained and working properly. Coordinate upgrades, implementing new features and training staff as needed. Maintain backup of system equipment, ensuring that backups are properly performed and stored to preserve data integrity. Perform basic maintenance of system equipment, including cleaning, and maintaining cleanliness of computer room. Perform daily, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processing, as assigned. Keep informed of emerging and existing technologies as they apply to Credit Union operations and growth. Research and propose changes, updates and new systems that will increase efficiency and effectiveness of network users. Share on-call, as needed, for after-hours system maintenance. Will backup/support Help Desk Technician as needed.
