**This is a 1st Shift position** (7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday) Occasional Overtime.
Position Overview: Performs chemical analysis testing and investigation on materials for the purpose of product certification, metallurgical control, developing new or improved grades/types of alloys or production methods. This position shall utilize XRF, DSC, Spark OES and Combustion methodology for analysis of metallic samples. This position reports to the Laboratory Manager and is full-time with benefits. $3,000 Sign on / 5% bonus plan & Wages start at $25.09+
Essential Job Functions:
Operation and maintenance of all lab instrumentation and testing equipment in accordance with procedures.
Perform alloy identification of samples using the lab equipment.
Aids in managing/maintaining all data, forms, reports, testing, and communications, as directed by the appropriate work instruction.
Shall comply with procedures that meet the requirements of NADCAP, AS9100, ISO17025, and other required OEM accreditations.
Shall comply with customer specifications, industry standards, quality control documents and work instructions.
Participate and perform round robin testing both internal and external.
Responsible for adherence to all safety polices, practices and procedures.
Other responsibilities as required by management.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education: A minimum of a high school diploma with a good mathematical and chemical background. AS in Material Science or Chemistry preferred.
Experience: Familiarity with the casting industry and related materials lab processes/equipment desirable.
