This team of former reporters and earned media specialists understand that in today's fragmented media landscape to grab reporter's attention you must approach client work like reporters. We are looking for a strong account executive to join our National Health Media Team (NHMT), based in Los Angeles (with an opportunity to work remote from other parts of the Western U.S. or in our Bay Area hub, Portland or Seattle offices.) This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team comprised of more than 30 media professionals across the country that work tirelessly to develop strong relationships with national, consumer health, broadcast, trade, regional and local journalists.
The ideal candidate is a writer and avid consumer of the news who can help craft story ideas to inspire earned coverage on all platforms. The right candidate for this position is fluent in the fundamentals of public relations, but also has a basic understanding of how the media landscape is evolving and changing, and how PR must adapt to those changes. She/he is a consumer of the news and a media junkie who can quickly craft a targeted pitch, flag trends or assets for storytelling and socialize ideas with account, creative, social and paid teams. They know how to conduct media monitoring, and analysis and to construct media lists that will help clients find the right reporter for their story at the right time. They think of the media as an audience and a channel. She/he thinks quickly on their feet and can manage short-term requests and long-term projects. The ideal candidate will follow instructions from supervisors but also take initiative regarding client work.
