Purpose:
~ To drive positive results by delivering IT strategy, policies and procedures in line with the Hyundai Motor company's (HQ) and Hyundai Motor North America (HMNA) IT plan by collaborating with the North American subsidiaries to support the operational activities and the strategic short and long term objectives. This position will also play a lead role in executing IT governance as Regional HQ IT.
Major Responsibilities:
~ IT strategic business planning & progress checking align with HQ direction.
~ Yearly IT planning with RHQ subsidiaries (Canada, Mexico, Alabama plant, HMA in USA)
Mid-term IT planning of RHQ
~ Reporting for HMNA management concerning all IT project, improvement
~ Collaboration with subsidiaries IT teams to execute IT plan and to check progress
~ Provide leadership for planning and tracking all IT project issue and schedules, establishing milestones and assigning RHQ management direction, identifying dependencies, execute, evaluate annual project reporting.
~ Provide and monitor IT governance
~ Provide strategic justification through the preparation of a business case for each major IT project
~ Provide clarity between the business strategy and the IT initiatives
~ Evaluate IT project relative to business objective
~ Attain agreement on priorities
~ Recommend project priority to the management at IT Steering Committee
~ Monitor project health and issue based on IT governance rule
~ Report issues and status to the management with root cause and counter measure
~ Support and facilitate Major IT project for HMNA and its subsidiaries
~ Improve current IT structure align with RHQ strategy
~ (Area: Infrastructure, Middleware, Application, 3rd party solutions, Vendor Management, etc.)
~ Liaises with internal stakeholders – subsidiary IT counterparts – to ensure clear and consistent communication about IT decisions that impact the broader organization.
~ Monitor/present emerging new technologies and partner
~ Deliver new valuable content for business and end-user experience
~ (New processes based upon new tech, best practices, IT trend, Case study for proof of
concept)
~ Learn new technology focus on new business trend (Mobility, Electrification, Connectivity, Autonomous) and create strategic direction from IT perspective
~ Lead IT Steering Committee meetings and financial planning and budgeting process for HMA and GMA. Align other HMNA entities with this process
~ Lead budget planning for the division
~ Lead the team providing operational support for PR/PO and invoice processing
~ Own the process of project and financial pre-planning
Authority:
~ Proposing IT strategies to HMNA CEO & President and Executive Committee
~ Instruct the IT strategies and direction to HMNA's subsidiaries
~ Collaborate with HMNA's subsidiaries for IT project review
~ Summarize and report all IT project status for management
~ IT budget review with HMNA's subsidiaries IT
~ Organize IT workshop with all HMNA subsidiaries
Education:
~ Bachelor's degree required.
~ Master's degree a big plus.
Related Experience:
~ Ten plus years of experience in IT, Planning or strategy, data management, data analytics, operations and/or IT related experience.
~ 3+ years of experience as IT strategic planner preferred
~ Five years of supervisory experience desired.
~ Prior automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
Skill/Knowledge:
~ Strong knowhow of technology trends. Deep expertise and knowhow in automotive industry related technology and business processes
~ Understanding of web development, databases, management reporting and ERP tools in .Net, Oracle, Analytic tool, Marketing CRM or customer facing system and SAP are desirable
~ IT system management skill for various automotive business area.

Physical requirements:
~ Normal office duties.
~ Travel within US required.
