JOB SUMMARY:The Controller position is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. The Controller also oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection and payroll and risk management.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Overall responsibility for all areas of finance and accounting including the preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly reports summarizing and forecasting business activity and financial position in areas of income, product costs, variances, expenses and earnings. • Prepare monthly and yearend financial statements. Comply with all regular reporting requirements supporting accounting, tax and treasury functions. • Maintain internal control systems and compliance and ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures. • Manage and supervise payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, cost accounting and fixed asset functions. • Prepare annual budget and communicate the plan to CEO and Board of Directors. • Monitor operating performance and implement actions required to achieve budgeted/forecasted goals. • Prepare monthly financial forecast. Communicate monthly results to CEO and Board of Directors. • Lead the preparation and management of Working Capital analysis and forecasts. • Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual entries. • Salary Exempt position – Hours over 40 per week can be expected, especially during Month-End, Quarter-End, Year-End Closings. • Other Duties as Assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Master’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or Business Administration, or years plus 10 years related experience and/or training, including experience in a fully-integrated, high performance manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Required skills include strong IT literacy, Microsoft Excel in particular; critical thinking and good analytical skills essential; hands-on approach and proven ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines. • Demonstrated excellence with standard cost and cost accounting models a must. Must be able to translate financial understanding into improvement actions and focus areas, and clearly communicate to multiple levels within the organization. • Demonstrated ability to consistently pull a wide variety of data into a well-constructed and supportable analysis. • Self-starter with strong strategic thinking skills. Experienced in strategy reviews and being part of teams to develop strategic plans. • Excellent interpersonal skills. Proven ability to develop and integrate effective practices and procedures. Strong PC and business systems knowledge. Excellent working knowledge of accounting principles. • Demonstrated strong work ethic and unquestionable integrity. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Effective communication skills tailored to different audiences. • Must be a demonstrated change agent, comfortable with continuous improvement and stretch concepts. • Must understand facilitation for improvements to drive teams; able to improve organizational skill level and capabilities.
