Mayo Clinic Arizona (MCA) has over 700 physicians and scientists and was ranked in the top 20 (out of nearly 5000) medical centers by the 2019-2020 Honor Roll of U.S. News and World Report. MCA is ranked in the top 10 best national sites for Gastroenterology, GI Surgery and in the top 20 for Urology. The MCA Department of Radiology has 48 MD FTE and 4 physicist consultants, with over 50% at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The department has 16 radiology residents, 2 IR residents, and 6 fellows. The associated Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine enrolls 50 students per year.
The MCA Division of Abdominal Radiology has 11 FTE, 7 ranked as full Professors. Two editors of major radiology journals are members of this division (Dr. Cooky Menias - RadioGraphics starting 2021, Dr. C. Dan Johnson - Abdominal Radiology). Presentations from members of the abdominal division are regularly given the highest awards at national conferences, including 3 Magna Cum Laude and 4 Cum Laude RSNA awards in 2019. In 2019, the division members published over 60 scientific and educational peer-reviewed papers.
Position description
The Division of Abdominal Radiology is seeking a highly qualified candidate eager to join a cutting edge academic practice with research and educational opportunities. Work areas include subspecialty interpretation of abdominopelvic CT / MRI studies and GI fluoroscopy. The successful candidate may also be involved with ultrasound, depending on their experience. A diverse candidate with expertise in gynecologic (not obstetrical) imaging would be a plus. Early to mid-career candidates preferred. We currently have the latest in 3T MR, dual energy CT with future plans for a 7T MR scanner.
