Grants Management Specialist (Finance)

FM Talent Source is currently seeking a full time Grants Management Specialist for one of our valued clients based in Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate will provide assistance with specific grant management functions, and will support various departments by following regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures during the award process.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Develop and submit bi-weekly progress reports to the COR. These progress reports shall include a description of the contractors progress towards specific tasks and goals as specified in this PWS and include any notable accomplishments or challenges.
Review semi-annual and annual progress from grantees, within ten days of receipt. The contractor shall develop a comprehensive report of findings to make the COR aware of any changes or deviations to the grant narrative, budget, or other issues that may require follow-up. As appropriate, the contractor shall use grantee reports to track the progress of defined projects and milestones. The contractor shall extract defined data from grantee reports and maintain the data using Microsoft Excel or other grants management software as determined by FNS.
Upload reports into the FNS Grants Information Management System (GIMS), withing ten days of receipt.
Review deliverables from grantees against established criteria and develop a summary report to document findings and notify the project COR, or the designated National Office project lead.
Track the submission of reports and deliverables from grantees and notify the COR of any late submissions
Monitor spending rates of grantees and compile quarterly reports identifying grantee activity of specific concern
Coordinate and complete grant related activities as necessary
Maintain the OCFS Farm to School Grantee SharePoint site, and make regular updates to the site and grantee handbook based upon direction from the COR or the Grants Team lead.
Maintain filing systems for both electronic and hard copy documents (as appropriate) at the FNS National Office in Alexandria, Virginia.
Prepare items for archiving according to record keeping requirements.
Respond to relevant correspondence via email from the Farm to School inbox related to grant related activity and technical questions pertaining to the operation of F2S grants and the nationwide grant reporting system.
Serve as the grantee reporting liaison by maintaining oversight and management of all reporting workflows through GIMS and any related systems. Provide FNS staff with summaries of baseline, final, monthly or quarterly reports regarding their assigned grantees.
Responsible for oversight of Farm to School Grant Baseline Reporting.
Responsible for management of the Grantee Progress reports (PPR-FNS-908 grant progress report form) that are due no later than 30 days following the end of the semi-annual reporting period.
Assist the OCFS Grant team in facilitating regular collaboration calls (monthly or quarterly) with grantees, including participating in discussions, presenting any findings from report/deliverable reviews, maintaining a list of attendees, and recording meeting minutes.
Responsible for the management of Final Reports from Farm to School Grantees. These reports are due 90 days after the end of the Farm to School.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
At minimum, Bachelors Degree. A Masters Degree, or commensurate professional experience, is preferred.
Demonstrated relevant employment experience in cooperative agreement or grant management, preferably with federal grant regulations and grant management processes. Experience with public health, nutrition, or foodservice grant programs preferred, but not required.
Proficiency in English to communicate with FNS staff and grantees. Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions, discuss and clarify instructions, and use proper punctuation and grammar when drafting materials and correspondence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, and Access, in order to manage correspondence, reports, and other administrative tasks.
Knowledge of, and experience with, various Webinar platforms, such as WebEx, Zoom, etc.
A consistent demonstration of professionalism, fairness, cooperation, and respect towards co-workers and FNS customers.
Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and priorities while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
