Work with faculty and trainees to assist in study design, including statistical analysis plans and power and sample size estimates, providing guidance on database options, statistical analyses, and writing statistical analysis plans for manuscripts and grants
Participate in design of upcoming studies
Evaluate research data and provide recommendations regarding what analyses will best answer the researcher's scientific questions
Request and handle large datasets as necessary to conduct studies
Develop analysis plans in collaboration with researchers. Select appropriate test formulas, perform standard computations such as multiple and partial correlation coefficients, t-tests, Chi-square, non-parametic tests, analysis of variance, analysis for unbalanced design, discriminant analysis, step-wise regression, and structural equation modeling, working from written or verbal instructions
Conduct data cleaning and creation of program system files.
Write and execute computer programs to perform statistical analyses.
Document data analyses and data management activities.
Meet with researchers on an “as requested” basis to review analyses. Participate in meetings for the purpose of modifying codes, designing and changing forms, and making reports during selected long-term projects
Assist researchers in interpreting statistical results.
Assist in the development of questionnaires and make recommendations for data collection procedures and database structures
Prepare data and analyses reports including writing up statistical methods and results sections of scholarly manuscripts
