Senior Safety, Security and Environment Manager (Personal Services)



The Senior Safety, Security and Environment Manager in Denver will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the health, safety, security and environmental policies and SOP's of Menzies Aviation and all customers. This individual will also assist and provide support to training management on matters of safety, security and education through training and training programs. As well as proactively promote a “safety first” culture by introducing safe working procedures in accordance with Menzies

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement applicable Menzies Aviation Policies and Procedures as described in the Eight Pillars of Management
  • Provide timely compliance reports weekly and monthly as required
  • With the Denver Frontier and ITP General Manager's plan & coordinate the implementation of safety and security priorities within the Frontier and ITP operation to achieve consistent standards
  • Take a proactive approach in addressing non compliance
  • Lead a group of supervisor's to support all safety, security and environmental activities
  • Responsible for driving corporate safety and security programs
  • Provide guidance & support to operational management on matters of safety & security
  • Through a process of hazard identification and risk control, develop policy and procedures
  • Proactively promote a ‘safety first' culture
  • Support the Frontier and ITP operation to ensure working procedures are in place and proactively audit daily inspections and the audit program
  • Establish and Support Health and Safety Committee
  • Liaise with the regulatory aviation authorities to ensure compliance
  • Accident and incident reporting & investigation
  • Facilitate the distribution of network safety and security alerts on a knowledge-sharing basis to increase awareness
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Report any significant deficiency in our products, processes, materials and/or documents
  • Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices especially those relating to safety and security
  • Responsible to create and post all OSHA required documentation

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year College or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Additional requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must pass pre-employment Physical and drug screen
  • Must have a positive, can-do, upbeat personality
  • Must enjoy dealing with people daily
  • Able to remain calm under pressure
  • Always uphold the image and standards of the company
  • Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs
  • Must pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal
  • Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word programs
  • Three years of experience in Ramp/ ITP Fueling operations

Other tasks include digging and shoveling, such as snow removal around equipment and office. Employee may also engage in debris removal which involves lifting, bending and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
