Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Segment Leader- Press and Tooling for our FM 1 plant in Fort Mill, SC location. This position is responsible for the manufacturing unit including maintaining production levels to meet customer requirement. Other duties will include Implementing programs in safety, cost reduction, process improvement, employee development, quality control and environmental compliance.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Manages programs to maintain and improve minute factor costs.
Manages programs to meet and improve planned machine efficiencies
Develops a communications network with sister plants directed at the effective exchange of technology and improvements.
Troubleshoots technical issues, coordinates appropriate technical support and develops technical improvements. Identify opportunities and develops cost savings programs.
Ensure full compliance with quality systems and make recommendations for improvement.
Manages problem solving teams using quality tools.
Manages new product startups and support launch managers using the APAQ system.
Ensures a full understanding and compliance with manufacturing procedures.
Manages a production control and production supervision team.
Team must deliver on-time to customer requirements and responds effectively to delivery problems.
Meets inventory goals.
Optimize the utilization of assets with flow line philosophies.
Plans, schedules and forecasts manpower requirements.
Ensures proper tools, components, and material availability in accordance with the production schedule.
Monitors and evaluates segment performance in quality, productivity, efficiency, product flow, and inventory on a daily basis.
Effectively communicates with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues
Ensure proper communication of and compliance with company policies and practices
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering field
Minimum 5 - 7 years experience in manufacturing and previous supervisory experience
Proven leadership skills and ability to manage independent operating group
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
Strong verbal and written communication skills
