What You'll Do

The Commercial Real Estate Banking segment of Wintrust provides customized and comprehensive solutions to create value and help meet the strategic priorities and evolving needs of our real estate clients and prospects which include best-in-class national/regional developers, investors, and owners of non-owner occupied real estate. The Commercial Real Estate Team is seeking a Portfolio Manager who will learn the business trade and our relationships. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and can multi-task across job functions, various client needs and competing bank priorities. 

  • Underwrite existing portfolio credit approvals for renewals and other Credit requests pertaining to existing clients

  • Underwrite opportunity memos and full credit approvals for new business clients

  • Independently analyze credit and financial information of property and individuals to determine the degree of risk associated with the extension of credit

  • Proactively manage covenant compliance testing for existing clients and new clients on an ongoing basis

  • Develop a working knowledge of credit/loan policy for credit requests and exceptions

  • Perform collateral analysis of current and prospective customers

  • Actively participate in existing client and potential new client meetings/site visits with banking team

  • Maintain Annual Review form for multi-year CRE borrowing facilities for existing clients

  • Work with external and internal business partners on review of deal related legal documents

  • Monitor, track, and manage the reporting requirement exception and loan documentation processes

  • Maintain effective communication with Credit and Commercial Real Estate Banking Officers

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' commercial real estate/credit experience

  • Bachelor's degree (Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred)

  • Strong understanding of general credit and risk principles, and banking policies/procedures; formal bank credit training is preferred

  • Working knowledge of banking environment, products and all supporting processes and technology

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to proactively manage and prioritize workflow

  • Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial forecast models

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability establishing client relationships and working within a team environment

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $71,000 - $110,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills and experience.
