What will you be responsible for?
The Senior Engineer, Tailings & Dams, works with the Director within the Technical Services Team based in Denver, Colorado. The role will provide professional leadership and expert tailings storage facility (TSF), dams and site-wide water management mentorship and operational support to our global mining operations.
The Senior Engineer will serve as a company resource for geotechnical and water-related information and analysis, providing centralized technical services across our global portfolio. The position will work as part of our Corporate Tailings & Water Management Team to ensure that multi-functional constraints, goals, opportunities and risks are accounted for, and a full and transparent path forward is mapped for existing operations, legacy sites, stage-gate projects, and new mines.
The Senior Engineer works with the operations to increase bench strength of our Responsible Tailings Facility Engineers/Persons (RTFEs/RTFPs) and other less experienced members of the team supporting tailings and water management.

The salary range offered for this role is $111,000 to 145,635. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
