The Business Development Manager will work with our global teams to develop new and exciting products which drive step function growth. You will also lead the expansion of our environmental sensing initiatives. Therm-O-Disc, with 10 international facilities and 4,000 employees, is the global leader in sensing solutions, keeping people and their homes safe for more than 70 years. AS A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, YOU WILL:
Work with Sales, Marketing and Customers to understand market trends and customer needs. Captures market trends/VOC in our growth strategy.
Work with Engineering to drive execution on key platform product development.
Generate and implement strategies which generate step function growth within the business cycle.
Identify internal technology gaps and works with engineering to address via internal technology development and/or external technology partnerships.
Expand served available market (SAM) with new initiatives.
Serve as project manager for new platform initiatives.
Lead cross functional teams and drives execution.
Lead process improvement teams to address current business needs.
Create Sales & Marketing presentations to drive growth initiatives.
Travel domestically and internationally to existing and potential customers.
Work collaboratively across Emerson to drive growth initiatives.
Develop and present updates for executive management.
WHO YOU ARE:
You consistently apply a business driver and marketplace focus when prioritizing actions. You pursue everything with energy, drive, and the need to finish. You facilitate an open dialogue with a wide variety of contributors and stakeholders.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Requires a BS degree (Engineering preferred) with five (5) to ten (10) year's combined Sales and Marketing/Product Management experience.
Working knowledge of MS Office, or equivalent productivity suites currently in use by the Company.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Initiative and adaptability.
Negotiation/persuasion skills.
Integrity.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Legal work authorization in the United States.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
MBA preferred.
Preferred understanding of sensing technologies.
Preferred domain knowledge in key markets: HVAC, Automotive, Appliance, Industrial.
