MAJOR FUNCTIONS
This position provides Information Technology ("IT") assistance and support to the City of Panama City Team ("the City"). Duties include the installation and configuration of computer hardware, installation/maintenance/upgrading of software and apps, troubleshooting issues with individual computers, working with servers and some networking with special projects throughout the City's IT system. Duties are performed under the leadership of the IT Manager. Working knowledge of proper IT protocols and security is critical.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Installs, update and assist in managing new software and hardware components as needed.
Offer technical support to City team members and troubleshoot computer and system problems for an organization with ~500 staff.
Set up/Imaging of new systems while helping keep images up to date.
Regular evaluation of IT systems and components to ensure they meet demands.
Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computers/peripherals.
Assist in the training of users of current and upcoming software/applications.
Educate staff in IT Best Practices for daily operations and security.
Assist administrator in the project development and management of the IT Division.
Assist administrator in systems management.
Maintains Help-Desk system, including tracking of requests, resolving items, and escalating as needed.
Ensures user-permissions and access-rights are properly maintained and audited periodically.
Assist with Active Directory management and Group Policy.
Maintains documentation of system updates and changes regularly.
Assists in the maintenance of inventory of systems throughout the City.
Run cable for new systems, routers, and other needs within the IT team.
Serves as a secondary point of contact for other team members when necessary.
Assist in City events and meetings with sound, lighting, recording with ability to learn and run meetings independently etc...often times outside of regular business hours.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability and skill in the assembling and set up of computers, workstations, and network devices.
Ability and skill in the installation and troubleshooting of various OS, Software, and system imaging.
Working Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Server software.
Ability and skill in networking across multiple platforms.
Ability and skill in phone management including VOIP and POTS systems.
Basic Firewall knowledge with emphasis on security.
Knowledge and strong understanding of IT best practices.
Knowledge of networking workstations for communications.
Ability to maintain flexible hours when emergencies or urgent needs occur.
Ability to operate and learn, if necessary, ticketing software and systems.
Computer skills including proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and proven ability to rapidly learn proprietary or third-party based software as required. Familiarity with Tyler Technologies NewWorld is a plus.
Skills to compose, create, and edit correspondence, documentation, and reports.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Information Technology. Training and/or experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement.
Must possess Comp TIA A+ certification and possess or be able to obtain and maintain Comp TIA Network+ certification (at a minimum) within one (1) year at the direction of the IT Manager.
Must be able to speak, write, and comprehend English
Valid driver's license required.
