This is a unique Class A commercial driving delivery position that allows you to connect with your customers, but more importantly - your family! Work weeks are typically Monday - Friday, and you are home every night!
This is an active position, requiring the ability to repetitively lift cases of beverage products, kneel, bend, and reach above the shoulders and head, and move around to different locations inside the store, all while working safely, quickly, and accurately to meet customer expectations and company sales targets. Mental and physical agility is necessary to perform the functions of this position.
Class A Commercial Drivers License is required to perform this position.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Pepsi Delivery Driver Trainee is primarily responsible for learning all aspects of a Customer Delivery Specialist role, including the safe and efficient operation of the delivery vehicle, merchandising, and displaying Pepsi Bottling Ventures products in convenience & gas, drug, and dollar store accounts, and all other duties necessary to provide world class service to our customers. The Delivery Driver (Trainee) will learn to service the accounts along designated routes efficiently and effectively by delivering, unloading, and merchandising product in customer accounts according to PBV and customer standards, adhering to all company, state and federal safety and driving regulations.
While training times may vary based on the learning pace of the individual, recommended training time is approximately 12 - 16 weeks. Upon completion of training, the Delivery Driver (Trainee) is responsible for performing the Customer Delivery Specialist function on various routes, (including open and vacation routes).
The fully trained and high performing Delivery Driver Trainee will be considered for promotional opportunities to their own Customer Delivery Specialist route when available.
JOB DUTIES:
• Conducts pre-post-trip inspection on truck according to DOT requirements and promptly reports problems to the Fleet department.
• Safely drives and maneuvers a truck having a gross vehicle weight of under or over 26,000 pounds.
• Services all scheduled customers by the end of shift according to PBV and customer standards.
• Delivers product to store.
• Executes delivery, merchandising and display on all promotions.
• Unloads, merchandises and rotates product in all accounts to PBV and customer standards (e.g., filling shelves and coolers, building and stocking displays, making products look attractive on shelves, rotating products, refilling out of stocks, removing out of date products, removing/returning shells, etc.)
• Establishes positive working relationships with PBV Pre-Sell Account Manager and customer contact at each account.
• Obtains required signatures, store stamps, or otherwise meets other requirements in order to ensure accurate settlement of all invoices at the end of the day.
• Communicates issues to appropriate store personnel and management.
• Follows all DOT and FMCSA regulations,.
• Follows company rules and regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
A current valid Driver's License is required. Candidates already possessing a Class A driver's license or a Class A permit are highly preferred. Candidates must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment. (Must be able to obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and 45 business days from their date of hire in which to obtain the license, if CDL is not currently held.)
Candidates must be able to successfully complete PBV driving test and meet driving qualifications. A clean driving record preferred. Motor Vehicle Records will be verified, and convictions or pending prosecution of any charge of excessive speeding, reckless driving, DUI, or other traffic violation may disqualify a candidate from this position.
Ideal candidates will possess a competitive nature with a strong desire to win, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, possess and exhibit a positive attitude and pay close attention to even small details. Candidates must be able to perform basic financial calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, Successful candidates will have strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Must have regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. Must have good organizational and decision-making skills. Must have good prioritization ability.
This is an active position, requiring the ability to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods of time. Candidates must be a self-starter with excellent follow-up skills, and have the ability to work well without direct supervision. Candidates must also be able to work well with a team. Candidates must be able to build strong working relationships with PSAM and other team mates to accomplish individual and company goals.
Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Constantly (34%-66%) required to walk, stand, lift up to 85 pounds and push/pull 300 - 2400 pounds with the assistance of a pallet jack. Frequently (67%-100%) required to sit. Occasionally (0%-33%) required to climb.
