Lead Automation Test Engineer (Finance)
The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is looking for an experienced Lead Automation Test Engineer to be a part of our Statistical Reporting and Reserves (STAR) team in Information Technology Services. Essential responsibilities:
• Serve as a project lead or team member to analyze complex business problems, perform in-depth research, elaborate business requirements, define test acceptance criteria, and document recommendations/specifications
• Determine, coordinate, and perform necessary tests as part of application development lifecycle. Assist our team in completing transition to Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) methodology for application release planning.
• Gain a good understanding of the STAR business in order to be able to support application releases
• Utilize your collaboration skills by working closely with members of the STAR user community, including the Board of Governors and Federal Reserve Banks across all districts
• Lead or contribute to the design, build and testing of automated frameworks including the coding of reusable components and functions, integration of test frameworks with STAR's Continuous Integration (CI) work flow
• Lead or contribute to automated test strategies and guide decisions to successful implementation and completion
• Provide traceability from business requirements and technical specifications to test conditions and defect reports
• Participate in detailed review walkthrough sessions
• Collect metrics to measure test progress and quality outcomes
• Participate in special projects as assigned
• Coach and mentor others on test criteria, functional test, test automation and quality engineering methods and techniques
• Work collaboratively with staff from SF Information and Technology Services (ITS), Federal Reserve National Information Technology (NIT), the STAR business and technical community across the Federal Reserve System, and other centralized applications in other FRB offices.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or any technical related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a business analyst on application development projects.
• Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate the results of complex analysis and design for a variety of audiences, including business staff, technical staff, and management.
• The ability to produce clear and accurate documentation.
• Experience with one or more of the following:
o 5 or more years of experience in descriptive programming using Java, Python, or equivalent
o Extensive experience creating and maintaining CI build and release processes with Jenkins or similar CI tools
o Be a true believer in agile development methodology, experience working with agile tools, particularly JIRA
• Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a Green card holder with intent to become a U.S. citizen.
Desired skills and experience:
• Experience with a Web based Business Process Management application and a strong desire to understand the customer's business.
• Experience with AWS Cloud.
• Training in designing highly usable Web pages.
• Extraordinary organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, show initiative, and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on assignments.
• Ability to suggest procedural changes.
