Quality Systems Engineer - (Job Number: 20000620) (Finance)
The Quality Systems Engineer provides support for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Plant quality management system (QMS) that is certified to both ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. This position has primary management responsibility over several quality systems within the overall QMS. Systems may include:
• Engineering Change Management (ECR)
• Layered Process Audit (LPA)
• Arconic Process Management
• Corrective Actions (CAR)
• Interface with the Calibration system, including MSA and Gage R&R
Key Accountabilities
LEADERSHIP PERFORMANCE:
The Quality Systems Engineer must be a dynamic leader capable of guiding cross-functional groups of employees in maintaining and improving the QMS:
• Assist in preparation for 3rd party QMS certification audits and customer audits and assist with the closure of related audit non-conformances.
• Provide data pertaining to QMS processes to the location Lead Team as part of periodic Management Reviews.
• Lead the location in the maintenance and continuous improvement of systems related to the QMS.
• Serve as an interface with external 3rd party auditors and 2nd party customer auditor
• Lead the location in the use of statistical methods such as control charts, capability studies, Pareto Diagrams, Measurement Systems Analysis, and other statistical tools for evaluating and reducing process variability.
PRODUCTION SYSTEMS:
• The Quality Systems Engineer must be able to develop, implement, and continuously improve quality systems using supplied software such as InfoPath Designer, Sharepoint, and EtQ Reliance.
• Assist with maintenance of the Quality Manual and Quality System Procedures, and update as necessary to comply with new or updated Standard and Customer Specific Requirements.
• Manage the Lancaster Fast Response process
• Provide guidance in the maintenance and continuous improvement of Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEA's, and Control Plans
• Support with maintenance and continuous improvement of Arconic Process Management efforts
TEAM DEVELOPMENT:
• Coaches and trains both new and existing employees in QMS requirements and quality concepts
• Assist with development of new internal auditors, including providing training to auditing concepts and automotive core tools
• Provide basic statistical training to employees as required.
• Provide training and assistance to all departments in use of quality systems and correct application of relevant systems procedures.
RISK MANAGEMENT:
• Conduct internal quality audits, including audits of Process FMEA's and Control Plans
• Pursue timely resolution of identified quality system issues
• Analyze quality system data to develop recommendations on opportunities for improvement. Advise the location Lead Team on opportunities for improvement of quality systems based on analysis of data from the system.Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering field from an accredited institution
• At least two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Exemplar Global Quality Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor, or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB) or Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB) certification
• Aluminum rolling experience or other metallurgy experience
• Familiarity with Power BI, InfoPath Designer, Microsoft Access, and Sharepoint
• Experience using Minitab or other statistical analysis software
• Experience using EtQ Reliance QMS Software
• Familiarity with automotive core tools
• Should have an understanding of basic systems workflow design
• Experience using Microsoft office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
