Payroll Specialist (Finance)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to read and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint,
Word) and e-mail (Outlook)
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of payroll, payroll tax laws, and accounting
• Solid working knowledge of HRMS, payroll, and time keeping systems
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Must exercise accuracy, discretion, good judgment, attention to detail, courtesy, tact and
patience
• Strong interpersonal skills; establishes and maintains good working relationships
• Strong keyboarding and data entry skills, alpha and numeric
• Must be able to properly handle sensitive or confidential company information
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of three (3) years of payroll experience required
• High School Diploma or GED required; Associates degree (A.A.) preferred
• Experience supporting a high-volume operation preferred
• Experience with UltiPro / Ultimate Software, Cognos, TMX / Micros, Ceridian or Oracle a
plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and
hear for extended periods of time throughout the course of daily activities. The employee frequently
is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee is occasionally
required to climb, lift, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and move up
to 25 pounds. The employee is required to work on a computer, in addition to doing paperwork.
