Chef de Cuisine (Food Services)
Position Summary:
Retirement Unlimited, a premier Independent and Assisted Living Community, is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to support back-of-house culinary excellence and oversee front-of-house dining operations. This leadership role ensures exceptional dining service, coordinates daily operations with the Executive Chef, and upholds RUIs high standards for quality, hospitality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead the dining room team, including servers and hosts/hostesses, to ensure prompt, courteous, and professional meal service during all dining periods.Assist the Executive Chef in the preparation and execution of meals.Maintain a strong working knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and recipe adherence.Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of dining and kitchen areas, complying with health and safety regulations.Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, labeling, and safe storage of food and supplies.Operate and maintain kitchen equipment (e.g., convection ovens, dishwashers, mixers) safely and effectively.Collaborate with the Executive Chef on cleaning schedules and ensure adherence to daily and weekly maintenance plans.Foster a pleasant, team-oriented dining environment for residents and staff.Responsible for creation and preparation of baked food items, breads, desserts, pastries etc. Responsible for setup, cleanliness, and ongoing maintenance of the Inspiritas serving area.
Qualifications:
23 years of supervisory experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting; senior living experience preferred.Culinary training or equivalent professional experience required.Knowledge of food safety standards.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.SERV Safe or willingness to obtain certification.
