Manage and conduct reviews (frequency determined by Loan Services Management) of all new bank loans and Change In Terms booked for proper loan coding ensuring that all codes are properly identified in the bank's core system to meet regulatory, financial and management reporting needs. This review includes but is not limited to codes for loan purpose, class, collateral, and industry codes (NAICS).
Collaborate with all loan portfolio reporting stakeholders to ensure that core system coding meets regulatory, financial and management reporting needs. Stakeholders include Chief Credit Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Risk Officer and others.
Establish and maintain coding process and procedures to support reporting requirements.
Review periodic analytic reports for possible coding errors; making decisions on proper coding
Ensuring that bank coding meets all standards required by CECL
Collaborate with Loan Support on coding trends and areas where additional training and improvements are needed.
Responsible for maintaining the Bank's coding information, and coordinate with other Bank System Administrators, such as Laser Pro, Baker Hill and Credit Quest when updates are required.
Work with the Accounting Department and Loan Services Analyst on coding anomalies.
Collaboration with team to assist with FHLB reviews as needed.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Ability to scrub, sort and analyze loan data for proper loan coding - analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Experienced with bank loan documentation; both consumer and business/commercial - preferably 5 years of loan and credit documentation experience required.
Good understanding of bank coding requirements
Good understanding of FHLB requirements.
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency in Excel and Word.
Must have strong prioritizing skills in addition to good statistical and critical thinking skills
Ability to work well under pressure and in an ever-changing regulatory environment.
Ability to meet audit schedule deadlines.
Discretion and a demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information.
College degree preferred; High School Diploma with lending experience considered.
Preferred experience with loan processing systems such as, Document Imaging Systems, Laser Pro, and Core system, i.e., Bankway.
