Registered Nurse New Entrant Supervisor (Healthcare)



The Registered Nurse New Entrant Supervisor provides direct supervision of the MATCH triage nurses, to ensure that standards of practice are met in working with individual clients and their families.

The primary responsibilities for this position are:

  • Supervision includes training, auditing, and evaluation of staff who perform the following functions:
    • Review of all documentation that is returned to MATCH within the first 30 days of a child entering care
      • Initial
      • Comprehensive
      • Dental
      • Mental health
      • Specialty
      • ER/Inpatient Hospital Discharge Summary
    • Assurance that the registration team is aware of all information to be shared with internal and external partners including but not limited to (PCP's, Catholic Charities, BCDSS, and MATCH leadership).
    • Assurance that medical homes are maintained and that MCOs and PCPs are only changed when there is no prior history with MCO/PCP reported by MMIS.
    • Document in ECW/CJAMS all pertinent health-related information including completion of the Initial Nurse Review, Health/Mental Health Status Scores, and Health Needs Scores
    • Communication with permanency, providers, and caregivers as needed to ensure that all health needs are identified and addressed according to best practice.
    • Reporting of details of new entrant record to appropriate MATCH case managers for case review and assignment
    • Management of cases for initial 45 days of care.  (After 45 days cases assigned to RN, CCA, or SW)
  • Participates in staff, community, professional and inter-agency meetings as requested. 
  • Attends all-new entrant triage meetings
  • Works directly with Baltimore City Department of Social Services programs to coordinate services for clients within required time frames.
  • Organizes coordinates and develops training to ensure staff have the necessary skills to perform their duties

  • Serves as a resource to staff for best practice and care
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Requirements & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • An active Maryland Registered Nurse license
  • A minimum of 1 year of management or relevant leadership experience
  • Knowledge of the foster care system and health field preferred
  • Relevant clinical experience providing services to families and children, preferably in a public health/community setting.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal & communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Computer literate specifically MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Gmail

  • Lift at least 15  lbs.
