Full Stack Developer (Java / Angular) - Aviation Services (Engineering)

We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer with Java and Angular experience to join our team that develops web and cloud services for our Aviation business segment. This team is responsible for websites such as FlyGarmin.com and FltPlan.com and integrating with the Garmin Pilot mobile application as well as Garmin avionics in the cockpit.
As a Full Stack Developer at Garmin, you'll develop rich, engaging, web application components and interfaces specializing in aviation using the latest web technologies.
- Frontend work will include projects heavily using Angular, as well as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap to deliver a great User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX).
- Backend work will include technologies such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, RESTful, Oracle, Postrgres, Spring, and containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, CRI-O, Kubernetes and PCF.
Our full-stack web developers participate in defining business cases, as well as the full lifecycle of development from conception, analysis, design, implementation, testing and deployment, and use Garmin and Third-Party Developer APIs to add dynamic features to web applications. We're looking for someone well-versed with Jenkins to help perform builds and deployments to various testing and development environments. You'll build and maintain automated deployment tools and design, develop and perform continuous improvements to the current build and development process.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math or Physics or a technical field (such as CIS or IT) from a four-year college or university AND minimum of one-year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
Other requirements include:
- Must possess relevant experience with web standards, usability, and accessibility principles
- Experience with front-end and back-end web development
- Strong proficiency with Angular
- Expert computer skills (Mac and PC)
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Must be flexible and able to work effectively and proactively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Must have good organization skills and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Demonstrated proficiency using Atlassian project management tools including JIRA and Confluence are preferred, but not mandatory.
