Human Resources Generalist (Finance)



Join Our Team as a Human Resources Generalist

At Lakeside Book Company, we believe in building a workplace where people thrive. As an HR Generalist, you'll be a key partner supporting our employees and leaders while fostering a culture of collaboration, communication, and care.
What You'll Do:

  • Support HR efforts across employee relations, staffing, safety, and training for your assigned locations
  • Provide guidance to leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Champion our Open Door Policy by supporting proactive communication and conflict resolution
  • Help lead and support training initiatives, new hire orientation, and leadership development
  • Manage personnel files and HR system updates while ensuring compliance with employment laws
  • Support benefits education and guide employees through questions and enrollment
  • Partner with safety and workers' compensation teams to ensure timely claim resolution
  • Contribute to HR programs that drive employee engagement, recognition, and development
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of HR experience (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a people-first approach
  • Confidence handling sensitive matters and navigating employee relations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn HR systems
  • Knowledge of employment laws, safety practices, and compliance standards
  • A team mindset with the ability to influence, guide, and collaborate effectively
