Position Purpose: Under the direction of the HR Director, the Manager, Human Resources will be accountable for providing the full range of Human Resources support to assigned businesses and/or functional groups. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the day to day HR management activities including: Employee Relations, Policy Interpretation & Implementation and Performance Management. In addition, the HR Manager will support and implement corporate related projects, processes and initiatives. The HR Manager will partner, consult and contribute to business unit decisions and strategy and translate these strategies into tangible HR priorities while ensuring the business and/or functional group is in compliance with all applicable laws and National Express policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing HR support, guidance, and training to employees, staff, and management teams within a specified region on range of HR issues and practices;
  • Initiating and implementing Human Resources programs to achieve business objectives and ensure HR support for internal customers;
  • Investigating and resolving various employment matters including internal employee complaints, hot-line issues, EEOC, Human Rights Commission, Wage and Hour, and other in conjunction with Labor Relations and Legal Department;
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws;
  • Guiding the performance management and performance appraisal process;
  • Promoting employee engagement and a positive work environment;
  • Assisting with the development and delivery of employee or management training;
  • Building strong partnerships and working collaboratively with internal and external customers; and
  • Conducting special projects as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; PHR or SPHR Certification preferred
  • 7-10 years of professional Human Resources experience
  • Multi-site experience required; ability to provide guidance and training from a remote location
  • Experience responding to EEOC, Human Rights Commission, Wage & Hour, and other types of employee claims required
  • Strong working knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles with significant knowledge of laws and regulations affecting employment
  • Effective presentation skills and the ability to assist in the development and delivery of employee or management training
  • Experience initiating and implementing Human Resources programs to achieve business objectives and ensure HR support for internal customers
  • Must possess leadership and collaborative skills with demonstrated ability to build partnerships with internal and external customers
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and HR systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Creative, innovative, and flexible mindset
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • Utmost professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Must have the ability to travel up to 60%
