Journeyman Electrician (Finance)



JOB DESCRIPTION

The Resideo Journeyman Electrician will perform installation, replacement, repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of electric circuitry associated with facility equipment at our Golden Valley manufacturing plant.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Hook up power, lighting and temperature controls (switch, lights, relays, etc.).
  • Determine appropriate components, wire size, protective covering and wiring layout.
  • Diagnose problems quickly to identify the causes of problems and determine effective courses of action to avoid extended periods of equipment downtime.
  • Report troubles to Supervisor in a timely manner to expedite additional resources as needed.
  • Work under the direction of Facilities Leadership for analysis and remedy. Keep records on day-to-day operation and on maintenance/repair of equipment. May be asked to orders supplies as required.

MOS:

Embrace and engage in the Resideo Operating System (MOS) including activities, but not limited to Safety & Behavioral Observation Process (BOP), 5S, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), Tiered Accountability Process, Standard Work, Rapid Problem Solving (RPS), Built In Quality (BIQ), Coaching, Total productive Maintenance (TPM) and Knowledge Sharing.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Working while standing to perform duties.
  • Long pants, safety shoes, and safety glasses with side shields required. Personal Protective Equipment as required according to job duties.
  • No drinking or eating in designated areas.
  • May be exposed to noise, dirt and/or chemicals in some areas.
  • Employees may be required to successfully complete location specific training to maintain eligibility for position.

YOU MUST HAVE:
  • High School Diploma
  • Minnesota Journeyman's License

WE VALUE:
  • Relevant experience and understanding of Ohms Law, reading blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
  • State of Minnesota Power Limited Technician License.
  • The ability to use computers and computer systems, such as Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • The ability to focus on important information and identify key details.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Someone who can analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts.
  • The ability to work with advanced mathematics, various types of circuit drawings and test equipment.
  • Training and/or experience working with the following: Programmable Logic Controllers; Variable Frequency Drives; Automation Controls.

The Electrical Technologist pays $43.13/Hour with a scheduled pay increase effective April 1, 2025.
