FALL 2021 MASTER'S LEVEL TREATMENT INTERNSHIP - Ames (Project Management)
Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team to review and assess client(s) needs and progress on treatment goals.
Under the supervision of a licensed clinician:
Conducts assessments that include comprehensive bio-psycho-social evaluations and screening tools under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
Establishes specific treatment outcomes including goals and objectives in conjunction with the client(s) and their family.
Provides individual and family therapy to client(s) and their family systems in coordination with clinical staff.
Refers client(s) for individual, family and group therapy services as appropriate. Monitors progress of these services.
Refers to other YSS service programs and community services as necessary.
Co- facilitates group therapy as necessary.
Provides mental health crisis intervention as needed and refers to external resources when necessary in coordination with the Clinical Supervisor.
Maintains a positive relationship with referral sources and community service providers.
Responsible for timely submission of all documentation.
Maintains electronic mental health records for all clients assigned, meeting established standards of competence and timeliness in clinical documentation.
Is prompt and accurate in completing all required reports, statistics and other requirements as necessary.
Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times.
Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
Performs other program related duties as assigned.

Proficient in completing assessments and treatment plans and they will be able to utilize multiple treatment modalities with children, adolescents and adults.
Students will become highly educated with regards to providing trauma informed treatment

Training, Supervision, and Benefits:
This is an unpaid internship.
Must attend an orientation to cover YSS policies regarding confidentiality, drug-free work environment, and child abuse reporting.
Invited to attend any YSS all-staff trainings that are available during your time with us.
Supervised by the clinical staff and will attend regular supervisory meetings.

Time Commitment and Requirements:
Internship will begin in October.
Work schedule will be based on hours needed for internship.
