The ideal candidate has a BS in a relevant engineering discipline and has 5+ years reliability engineering experience pertaining to Mil-HDBK-217 or other equivalent reliability calculation techniques. The candidate possesses experience working on type certificate programs under 14 CFR Part 21, 23, 27, 33, 35, and/or 36 aircraft regulations. The candidate should be comfortable working with a team of fellow certification oriented engineers & DER's, systems engineers, and other design engineers providing critical design feedback as relates to safety and certification concerns. Contributing as a team member to ensure design intent is met from a reliability perspective for the given system architecture . We are looking for a person who enjoys tinkering, and always looking for the better, safer, more robust way for a given circuit to accomplish a given function.
You will review all electrical and mechanical designs during all phases of design and provide feedback to design engineers on ways to make the assemblies and functions more robust.
This will include review of current generation hardware electrical and mechanical designs for various projects and aircraft systems. You will work with design engineers to add additional resilience for our existing prototypes and new designs.
You will personally help produce reliability related requirements for all systems and subsystems as well as perform the reliability calculations to ensure system architectures and CCA designs meet the needs of the aircraft.
Those projects will include: eVTOL aircraft, drone model UAS aircraft, and ground bases recharge infrastructure.
