Fitter in GA (Finance)
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints.
Fit and tack steel parts into position according to specifications detailed on the blueprints in regard to dimensional, parallel, squareness, and flatness tolerances.
Follow a build plan as described by set of prints or as directed by supervisors.
Knowledge of welding and effects of heat upon weldments.
Ability to reason through build process and determine most efficient use of time and effort.
Must have the ability to work in a team environment
Competencies
Ability to read and interpret documents such as layouts, moderately complex blueprints, weld symbols and/or specifications, sketches. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers and supervisors regarding safety, quality and maintenance instructions.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and circumference. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Requires the ability to operate various equipment to include welding equipment, forklift, hoists, riggings, and various hand and power tools. Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot problems with welding equipment. Requires a broad knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, welding techniques and maintenance procedures and practices.
