SEO Strategist (Legal)

Since 1987, the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) has set the standard in certification, continuing education, solutions and tools for health and fitness, sports performance and sports medicine professionals. NASM has pioneered evidence-based health and fitness solutions that optimize physical performance and allow individuals to achieve a variety of fitness activity goals.
We are looking for a hard-working, technically-savvy SEO Strategist to join our team. This position would be responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing on-site and off-site SEO strategies across all brands. The right person will be well-versed in SEO best practices, have experience advising content marketing strategies through an SEO-lens, be goal-oriented, self-directed and have very strong research skills.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in marketing, advertising, or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of digital marketing, content marketing or SEO experience
• Experience working with popular keyword tools, such as: Google Trends, SEMRush, ScreamingFrog, Google Search Console, etc.
• Experience working building/administering content in multiple CMS environments
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS and website administration
• Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools, including Google Analytics
Responsibilities:
• Audit sites from the ground up. Develop strategies to improve our organic rankings.
• Develop and maintain a detailed, strategic keyword map for each site, using this to inform URL structures, copy, meta information, etc.
• Review blogs for link opportunities; identify and suggest blog topics based on search data.
• Research and make keyword recommendations based on trends, values, and competitive analysis.
• Write meta tiles, descriptions and URL suggestions for existing and new site pages.
• Continuously monitor and work to improve our organic rankings. Identify and implement both on and off-site tactics to improve performance.
• Edit and write copy as needed, through an SEO-lens.
• Work with developers to implement technical SEO deliverables.
• Leverage performance analytics to drive strategy and long-term SEO campaign growth.
• Stay on top of industry trends and the ever changing SEO landscape.
Skills & Abilities:
• Familiarity with schema markup.
• Highly organized; experience with Wrike preferred.
• Strong computer literacy; able to learn new programs quickly and easily.

• Ability to identify and track relevant search KPIs.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Attention-to-detail, critical-thinker and problem-solver.
• Experience with HTML and CSS.
• Experience working in content management systems.
• Ability to edit content directly in the markup without a WYSIWYG editor.
