Human Resources Specialist (Human Resources)



Strong focus on recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Credit Union personnel. Responsible for coordinating a wide range of human resource functions; including but not limited to, FMLA, EPSL, and employee engagement event planning. Assistance with performance appraisals and corrective actions, and ensuring that Credit Union personnel are well informed of human resource policies and programs.  Ensures that Credit Union records and reporting are in compliance with federal and state regulations.  Updates Credit Union job descriptions and assists with salary administration processes.  Completes assigned reporting functions involving attendance statistics, termination, hire and transfer data, and other information assigned.  Provides recommendations regarding the development and administration of human resource policies and programs.  Assists in informing new employees of Human Resource policies and programs as needed.  

 

Education/Certification:         B. S. degree in business or related field or equivalent experience and education

Required Knowledge:            Knowledge of Human Resource laws and regulations.

                                              Knowledge of recruitment, onboarding and hiring. 

                                              Understanding of compensation and benefits policies and programs.

                                              Knowledge of basic Accounting concepts and procedures including account reconciliation.

                                              Knowledge of related computer applications. 

Experience Required:            One to three years of related experience. Abilities generally acquired on the job.  Includes formal and on-the-job training.

                                              Well organized and attentive to detail.

                                              Excellent communication and public relations abilities.

                                              Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.

                                              Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.

                                              Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

                                              Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.

                                              Strong typing and computer application skills.

                                              Ability to assist and support others.

                                              Able to operate telephone, PC, copier, and other basic business machines.
