About New Markets:
Recently formed, the New Markets organization is an expanding, fully-dedicated team focused on creating significant value by driving Dexcom's world-class continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology into new applications, such as non-intensive type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, the hospital and managed care facilities, and pregnancy (including gestational diabetes). These important initiatives are entrepreneurial by nature, as they may require novel go-to-market strategies and new technologies. Each member of this team will play a critical role in helping the New Markets organization first explore then realize the significant potential that exists within these exciting new opportunities.
Summary:
The staff systems engineer will be part of Dexcom's product development Systems Engineering team and will provide support to the New Market's pioneering initiative, using sound and proven systems engineering principles, best practices and concepts in order to understand, define and document the scope for products that best meet the needs of our customers, collaborate with design stakeholders to design architecture, identify/manage product interfaces, define/resolve/optimize tradeoffs between conflicting requirements, lead technology ideation, proof of concept, and down-selection activities and plan/execute subsystem and system integration.
Working as a member of the Systems Engineering team, this systems engineer will collaborate and communicate with company management, operations, marketing, supply chain, quality assurance, alliance partners and other departments and vendors.

Functional Description: Technical Individual Contributors
Designs a complete and complex framework, system or product. Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses. Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
