Fabrication Lead (1st shift) (Finance)



  • Position Summary:

    This position is responsible for the effective utilization of materials, equipment, and systems, fabricating from a simple to moderately complex sheet metal products.This position is responsible to lead the fabrication operation from the forming, cutting, sharpening, piercing, welding and/or the painting of fabricated materials for the use in a final product.

    SKILL(Education, Experience, Initiative, and Ingenuity):

    • High School Education or GED required .
    • Ability to read and understand blueprints and BOM's
    • Experience on SAP
    • Experience on Symmetry
    • Strong Leadership skills

    EFFORT (Physical Demand, Mental or Visual Demand)

    • Must have excellent natural or corrected vision
    • Ability to lift up to 26 pounds
    • Job cannot be performed alternating sitting and standing.
    • Ability to perform continuous repetitive motions with hands and arms
    • Must be capable of working independently using initiative and problems solving skills

    RESPONSIBILITY (Equipment or Process, Material or Product, Safety of Others, Work of Others)

    • Read and understand simple to moderately complex blueprints and bill of materials
    • Lead and ensures proper fabrication processes for small sized to very large parts
    • Evaluates and performs basic troubleshooting, and obtains support from supervision, and engineering as needed
    • May periodically provide input to supervision, engineering, and quality groups relative to product improvement
    • Utilizes computer system to confirm operations (SAP) and add production data (LDS), pulling prints, pulling BOM's and job specifications
    • Maintain LDS update it every hour
    • Provide service to other departments on time and answer symmetry barriers
    • Responsible for a team product quality, proper measuring techniques, and tool use and care
    • Performs other tasks as may be requested to assure the effective and continuous utilization of assets
    • Attend to employees needs requesting material from support teams
    • Establishes and maintains a safe and healthful working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements

    JOB CONDITIONS (Working Conditions, Hazards)

    • Safety shoes and safety glasses are required
    • Hearing protection is required .Other specialized safety PPE such as face mask, gloves, apron, sleeves, and clothing may also be required
    • May use hazardous chemicals
    • Noise level is within normal and acceptable standards for environment
    • Proper use of various hand tools, cutting tools required , PIT and/or pallet jacks
    • Improper use of sheet metal handling can result in cuts and muscle strains

    LEAD Responsibilities (KPI's, Day to day operations).

    1. Monitors KPI's for Safety, Quality, Production, and Quality Systems.
    1. Provides to machine operators 'day to day' instruction as assigned by Supervisor
    1. Trainer
    1. Keep LDS up to date every hour
    1. Monitor for hot orders/parts
    1. Drive team to meet daily goals and escalate barriers with support teams
    1. Open communication between shifts
    1. Performs all responsibilities listed above
