Maintenance Purchasing Agent (Project Management)
Working closely with personnel to maintain inventory control for maintenance materials, parts and supplies.
Developing relationships with vendors to solicit, obtain, negotiate competitive bids and maintaining price lists.
Strong attention to detail for completing related paperwork and support documents such as requisitions, purchase orders, bills of lading and shipping manifests.
Acknowledging any changes or revisions to original purchase orders and taking action necessary to control and account for delivery or price variances.
Getting involved with quality matters when the situation warrants participation.
Maintaining detailed files for historical data and report generation.
Conducting business with vendors in a professional, ethical manner and awarding contracts on a fair and impartial basis.
Requirements:
Minimum one (1) year purchasing experience in manufacturing or must be receptive to learning purchasing techniques and attending seminars on basic purchasing procedures.
Minimum one (1) year knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Demonstrated knowledge with inventory controls preferred.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to perform tasks despite frequent interruptions.
Must be receptive to cross-train within other purchasing areas.
Previous fork-lift experience a plus or willing to obtain forklift certification upon hire.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
