System Administrator (Project Management)
Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; specialized networking systems education and training.
Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient computer skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient knowledge of information technology functions including PC support, network administration, data communication, and routine PC maintenance and troubleshooting; working knowledge of current operating systems; visual and auditory skills. VM Ware, VM Ware VDI, and AS/400 experience preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' experience in related positions is required.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for directing, coordinating, installing, configuring, and maintaining the organization's network; maintaining current and additional certifications required to perform job function, as well as maintaining current knowledge of technology trends and developments; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other divisions or departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the networking function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.
Essential Duties
1. Directs, coordinates, installs, configures, and maintains the organization's server network by performing the following duties:
a. Ensure proper usage and appropriate security levels. Work with provider to maintain existing infrastructure
b. Designs and supports the organization's server network and supporting software, including administering user profiles, permissions and passwords, and performing system backups.
c. Researches, evaluates, and assists CIO with new technologies.
d. Installs, configures, and maintains the organization's e-mail communication system, including administering user profiles, permissions and passwords, and ensuring uptime.
e. Researches, troubleshoots, and resolves system problems; assists all departments, contacting outside system engineers and alerting Bank management when necessary.
f. Designs, specifies, configures, and installs all hardware, including user workstations such as PCs, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, switches, modems, cabling, storage systems, and Internet service providers.
g. Assists in training users on all aspects of server, software, and e-mail usage.
h. Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access to resources both locally and on the network.
i. Communicates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware and network operation problems. Works closely with IT Technicians to resolve problems and issues relating to their area.
j. Consults with department managers and CIO to develop system solutions consistent with organizational objectives and IT Strategic Plan.
k. Installs, tests, software upgrades and ensures that all operating systems are appropriately patched.
l. Collects and analyzes network and server utilization including monitoring server logs, correcting any alert situations and reporting occurrences to CIO.
m. Provides documentation as necessary to support IT objectives and operational specification needs.
n. Cover any IT staff employee when short staffed.
2. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
3. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
4. Implements strategies to achieve goals assigned to the department as established in the division's annual operating plan; assists in the development of the annual budget for the department and adheres to budget parameters.
5. Communicates with other departments to report and resolve core system operation problems. Works closely with other System Administrators and IT Technicians to resolve problems and issues relating to their area.
6. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other divisions and departments in order to insure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
7. Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
8. Provides periodic reports to the CIO and other groups as required throughout the Bank. Assists in coordination of Business Continuity Plan.

1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
