Investigator - Collections and Forensic Solutions (Information Technology)
REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:
• Have at least 2-3 years of Data Forensic experience
• Experience in the use of computer forensic tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK Imager, MacQuisition, Paladin, Harvester, TX1 Imagers).
• Mobile device collection and reporting experience preferred (e.g. Cellebrite)
• Must have Windows and Mac/Linux knowledge. Server operating system experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10. Windows Server, MS Active Directory and MS Exchange is a plus
• Proficient in the use of encryption, both hardware and software • Ability to work off hours and travel both domestically and internationally on short notice
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Skillful at analysis and troubleshooting of related systems components
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives
• Ability to develop and follow standard processes and complete documentation as needed
• College degree in the field of Computer Science, Programming, Network Engineering or related field
• AccessData Certified Examiner credentials (ACE v6) or equivalent preferred
• Ability to collaborate and work with various teams and colleagues to achieve cross-functional objectives
• Strong communication skills and experience interacting directly with clients
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Apply industry accepted principles in preserving, recovering and downloading digital evidence
• Perform remote, onsite, or in-lab collections (Full, Targeted, Search at Source) for UnitedLex clients
• Mobile device collection and analysis/reporting for various phone/tablet models such as iPhone, Android, Blackberry, etc.
• Consult with and take direction from supervisors, engagement managers, and clients regarding project action items
• Perform administrative tasks as necessary, such as time and expense entry and approval, performance reviews and feedback, career development, etc.
• Validate collected evidence files/formats and communicate verification summaries
• Collection tracker updates, QC and reporting for all data collected
• Provide first level Forensic support help for Discovery business (i.e., copy issues, data corruption, decryption tasks, imaging help, physical drive problems)
• Password cracking of common office file types and mobile device backups
• Metadata cleansing of office and pdf documents
• Backup, log and stage collected evidence for forensic investigation
• Document Forensic Data and describe Forensic Imaging/Processes to attorneys, paralegals, and/or other litigation professionals
• Other duties as assigned by manager
