Engineer 1 (Rotational Development)
Littelfuse would like to provide the next generation of innovators a customized development experience. Participants will have unique experiences and responsibilities, while networking and collaborating with customers, suppliers, and multi-functional departments. The participant will report to the Sr. R&D Engineering Manager for specific duties within each division. Each assignment will have a duration of 6 to 8 months, with opportunities to travel to various Littelfuse locations. Networking will continue with participation in the Littelfuse Innovation Forum and Littelfuse Tech Talks. During this experience, you will foster your technical and leadership skills through integrated foundational training, as well as coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
About the Job:
High Power Lab: Develop a complete understanding of HPL equipment and testing capabilities (6-8 months)
Create new electrical circuits based on customer requirements/lab capabilities
Physically set-up new and existing circuits (buss bar set-up)
Initiate and operate the data acquisition equipment
Extract and analyze data from oscillographs
Become well versed in standards (UL 248, UL 4248, IEC, etc.)
Conduct and report on competitive product testing and analysis
Product Design: Design, build, and test new product design concepts and manage new product introductions (6-8 months)
Participate in new product development programs including designing mechanical specifications and producing prototypes
Facilitate new product introductions at Littelfuse manufacturing locations
Build, test, and evaluate design concepts
Participate in the design verification and validation programs by developing test plans, coordinating test programs, and identifying design improvement opportunities
Develop prints, QFD's, design and process FMEA's, cost estimates, etc.
Conduct feasibility studies
Application Support: Provide technical support for new products to internal/external customers (6-8 months)
Evaluate product application feasibility (Techline support)
Conduct customer input/market research sessions. Define customer requirements, target markets, estimated pricing
Research available competitive products
Define and support feasibility studies
Initiate project proposals and prepare product specifications
Interface with marketing to develop literature and sales tools for new products
Research: Research new materials and technologies (Always)
Identify new materials/technologies and explore possibilities of applying to new Littelfuse products.
Procure samples, build prototypes, and conduct tests
Prepare reports and recommendations
About You:
B.S. E.E. or B.S. M.E. recommended or equivalent experience
Results oriented
Hands-on experience in operation of oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc. (1 year)
Experience with 2D/3D CAD software (1-2 years)
Good “people” skills
Good listener and can adapt to the customer audience
Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Team Player
Good written/oral communication and organizational skills.
Good problem solving & research skills
