KPFF Consulting Engineers
Structural Engineering Intern (Architecture)
KPFF offers a summer internship program designed to provide qualified candidates with an opportunity to learn the day-to-day knowledge and skills necessary to become a structural engineer. Internships also provide KPFF with the opportunity to work with future KPFF employees. In the KPFF Portland office, many internships turn into full-time engineering positions. This includes three of the seven principals who started their careers with KPFF as interns.
KPFF has historically hired a minimum of four interns each summer and we are dedicated to providing an engaging and informative experience for them. Interns are incorporated into one of six structural engineering teams and have the opportunity to work one-on-one with all levels of the organization, from principals to project engineers to drafting technicians. Our interns gain valuable consulting experience ranging from structural engineering desk tasks, drawing coordination tasks, construction site visits, and construction administration services. An intern's job responsibilities will vary by team, but every intern will work alongside experienced structural engineers committed to developing future engineers.
